Forced Hiatus

I may not be psting on here for a while because I only have 2 weeks left of uni t complete 3 assignments. It's ging t be tough but i'll let you know the outcome in the end. In contradictin t this post though I may post things I really like while i'm researching so funnily enough this post may not be true at all. What a mystery.

I'm still ambivalent about the new iPad and whether to purchase one if I already have an iPhone but I do know that if this picture wasn't an April fool and was actually real, I would of pre-ordered mine before even writing this post.

So it turns out Justice don't only make great music. Gaspard made this poster for an up and coming Ed Banger tour. I love the monochrome design and Metallica influenced header.

Jordan Walker - 08' Stop Motion Brief

A small stop motion video I made for an animation brief back in 2008 for my first year. We all had to link the videos to a font we were given. We then ahd to create a poster that showed relevance to the font and then an animation or movie where we could do whatever we wanted. This piece of work had barely any research, I was fixated with stop motion at the time and loved that I could do nearly anything with very little to no post editing. The only things edited in this whole video was putting the movie into monochrome as I was too stupid to realise I hadn't done it on the camera settings, adding an "r" in digitally because I somehow forgot and some re-arranging with the ink spill into the "u" which is done terrible if you look closely.

Burak Kaynak

This guy makes some great design. All his pieces have like double meanings for example he has a fire alarm ashtray, floppy disk sticky notes and this; bread loaf notepads. They're really simply designed but just look great. Deffo check his site out.

Ivan Khmelevsky

I've recently been given a brief at uni where I have to design a CV?Mailer to send out to potential employers. I was checking out some blogs for research when I came across this logo identity for a designer called Ivan Khmelevsky. When I went to check out his site, it turns out he's at the same uni as me, on the same course, in the same year. What are the chances. I see this guy walking around every damn day and had no idea he could pull this sort of amazing design out of his ass. This logo is part of a whole CV pack which includes a poster, printed CV, badge, card and USB stick. The whole thing looks great and expensive. Check it out, and watch this space becuase my CV/Mailer may be posted on here real soon.
