ANTREPO // A2591

Seriously. This year has been sick for design but right at the end of the month when I'm struggling to find the stand out design of 2010. This comes along and leaves my jaw on the floor. It's so simple and probably so easy also but it just looks so damn sick. There's a few more of these on the website linked below. I really wish that brands had the balls to make their new products design-savvy and make them nice for a change instead of throwing all sorts of effects and graphics on their products. Pointless. Apparently in Australia they're actually going ahead with a nice clean re brand of them cigarette brands. If I see any pics I'll keep you posted. I like that because like a friend of mine said about fag packets, "You don't have pictures of liver failure and jaundice on beer bottles do you?"

Grafik Magazine are back... sort of.

So Grafik kinda died a while back but they're coming back slowly. Studio Outpost posted the PDF version of the new magazine and it's well worth a read. Download here.

City of Melborne by Jacob Little

Some cracking modern work here from Jason Little. This really modernizes something that is so old fashioned this day and age; City identities. He worked on this with a few other designers and it really has pulled off. I love how the same simple logo, minimal yet easily recognizable can be modified still using the same outlying design and yet show off so many other concepts. The guy shits awards by the way. If you go on his behance he doesn't mind boasting about how many are on his bookshelf.

Branislav Kropilak

I'm surprised I haven't posted Branislav's work before. I've followed him for a year now and I think his photography seriously leaves me stunned. He takes these phenomenal, symmetrical photographs which are so colourful yet maintain a dramatic look. I really would love to follow this guy round and know how he does this.
